Fort Lewis College Scholarships

For first-year and transfer students. This scholarship is one tool FLC uses to counter everyday and longstanding ways students from underrepresented and underserved groups experience racial and social injustice. We hope this scholarship makes a difference in our students' lives.

It is an $8,000 scholarship distributed in $2,000 increments over four years for degree-seeking undergraduates who maintain full-time status and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. Unlike FLC's tuition merit scholarships, students can combine this scholarship with other institutional aid and/or the Native American Tuition Waiver.

In response to the need for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) K-12 teachers in the Southwest’s Four Corners region, we created a teacher training program to support the communities in our beautiful backyard.

The Four Corners Noyce Scholars Program is a National Science Foundation (NSF)-supported1 scholarship program aimed at increasing the number of highly-qualified STEM teachers in K-12 schools throughout the Four Corners region.

The Reisher Scholars Program awards scholarships to Fort Lewis College students who demonstrate financial need and merit, and who are:

• Colorado residents or out-of-state residents receiving the Native American Tuition Waiver
  Rising sophomores, who would receive three years of support
• Community college transfer students entering Fort Lewis as Juniors, who would receive two years of support
• The program’s goal is to assist promising students in completing their undergraduate degree while taking out minimal debt.

Scholarship amounts range from $4,000 to $15,000 for the 2023-2024 academic year and are designed to fulfill the unmet financial need of each student.

Fort Lewis College is committed to helping our enrolled students reach their full potential and persist through graduation.

We understand when students can suddenly face different challenges, including the inability to secure housing, afford basic needs, find access to online learning resources, or sometimes unexpected expenses arise, making it hard for students to concentrate on academics. Unexpected expenses could be car repairs, emergency medical bills, or something out of the ordinary that you did not expect. *It is important to note that your College bill is not an UNEXPECTED expense and will not qualify.

In these situations, the Skyhawk Emergency Grant Committee may be able to help students cover these expenses with a one-time grant thanks to generous gifts from Fort Lewis College Foundation donors. Reviewing grant requests, we consider a student’s financial, academic, and disciplinary records, course load, and degree-seeking status.

Eligibility for Skyhawk Emergency Grant

To qualify for a Skyhawk Emergency Grant, you must be a current student taking courses at Fort Lewis College and have utilized all available funding sources.

The Skyhawk Emergency Grant opens a week after the fall/spring term begins and closes a week before classes end each semester.
